A random chapter of the Tao Te Ching for this rainy St. Paddy's Day:
36If you want to shrink something,
you must first allow it to expand.
If you want to get rid of something,
you must first allow it to flourish.
If you want to take something,
you must first allow it to be given.
This is called the subtle perception
of the way things are.
The soft overcomes the hard.
The slow overcomes the fast.
Let your workings remain a mystery.
Just show people the results.
Ah ... another message I needed today. This part, especially, resonates with me as I ponder the "ego" aspects of self-promotion and try to decide how much I should or shouldn't put out there:
"Let your workings remain a mystery.
Just show people the results."

I have read your posting of this chapter several times, and I catch myself thinking about it at odd times during the day. Contradictions, but not. I'm still processing....
