Going into my birthday month, a random chapter of the Tao Te Ching. This one seems especially on point for me now. From what I can tell, it may be for many of us, in this time of great change that can seem overwhelming and confusing to the point of exhaustion, particularly for those who are (like me) super-sensitive.
Although it is often helpful for me to think about things, this is telling me, among other things, to back off the mental analysis and just let myself be. What a relief. I can feel the burden lifting as I read this.

Express yourself completely,
then keep quiet.
Be like the forces of nature:
when it blows, there is only wind;
when it rains, there is only rain;
when the clouds pass, the sun shines through.
If you open yourself to the Tao,
you are at one with the Tao
and you can embody it completely.
If you open yourself to insight,
you are at one with insight
and you can use it completely.
If you open yourself to loss,
you are at one with loss
and you can accept it completely.
Open yourself to the Tao,
then trust your natural responses;
and everything will fall into place.
