The first time I read the poem "The Journey" by the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver, something inside me said "Yes." That same something impelled me through my own "wild night" this past summer. Once you make that decision to live your own life and stop living others', there is no going back; and oh, such a relief when you begin to see those stars shining in the clear night sky.
That is my very most favorite poem by Mary Oliver. I was reading her poetry earlier tonight.

I only discovered her work recently. This poem speaks to me so vividly.
