Back in January, when the trees were bare, the relative humidity was at dew point all day long, and I'd wake up to snow on the ground -- even before the yellow daffodils began to bloom -- the first signs of green were the lily shoots pushing up from the ground behind the garage next to my house.
Spring here is awesome ... I have never seen so many flowering trees and shrubs in one place in my life. Cherry trees, plums, apples, irises, rhododendrons, and many plants that I have yet to identify (there's always next year) -- at a certain point, there were so many white tree blossoms floating in the air and piled on the ground that it looked like a blizzard had come through.
Through it all, the lily stalks kept rising, until they were three and four feet tall. Finally, by the time I got back from my trip to Dallas at the end of May, I noticed hints of orange appearing.
Thank you for helping me to appreciate Mother Earth and Nature even more! This is a beautiful and worthy contribution that you are so innocently offering.
