Here's my little garden pal, ariolimax columbianus...
After I took these photographs, I put some vegetable cuttings and refuse into the composter, and threw a little bit of the core of a bell pepper onto the ground about a foot away from the banana slug. A few minutes later, it was heading in that direction.
Either you have tiny, weency little hands: or the Pacific North West is off my list of holiday destinations. ;)
Does he/she have a name yet?

Well, it's ... er ... Spots. That's it. His/her name is Spots. Thanks. :D

And actually, it's both him and her ... slugs, like earthworms, are hermaphrodites.
It looks like Spots is now a mama/daddy. I saw a little spotted slug outside today; what would be a normal size adult anywhere else on earth, but is obviously a baby banana slug.
