When I lived on the Gulf Coast, the red-breasted robins would usually show up there on their spring migration route sometime in February or early March. Apparently, my front yard there was fertile worm and bug territory. My cats would sit on the enclosed front porch for days and enjoy the show.
During the past week or so, the robins finally arrived in my backyard here in the Pacific Northwest. This evening, I saw one hopping around my back porch.
Just now, I was checking out the employment listings on craigslist for Portland and came across this one:
Need someone to sit in my yard 9am-5pm Mon-Fri starting immediately, and keep cats/racoons/crows away from a robin's nest. I'll pay $75/week for 2 weeks. House has wireless. Chair provided.
I love this place.
(In case anyone reading this lives in the Portland, Oregon area and wants this job, here's the link to the listing: http://portland.craigslist.org/etc/160844566.html)

I guess it might depend on what one's day job was. ;) :D

But if you were writing an article on Robins for an ornithology magazine... Perfect!
