Way back in the early days of this blog, I started to set up categories for my blog entries. After a few weeks, it became obvious that my attempt to impose organization on the blog was not going to work, and I abandoned those categories. I discussed this attempt as follows:
Come to think of it, that's pretty much what I'm doing in my life right now -- setting up a new foundation and operating structure. What do I want? Where do I go from here? How do I live my life from here on?
As I write this, I am hearing the word organic. There is a very fecund process going on right now. To switch metaphors, I am riding the crest of a tsunami, both literally and symbolically. You cannot control the wave. You cannot control how the plants grow in the field.
Over the ensuing months, my blog has grown itself, and the appropriate structure has now made itself known. The categories have named themselves, and I just spent a couple of hours going back and letting each blog entry tell me where it fits. At the bottom of each post there is now an indication of its category home or homes, and if you look in the sidebar to the left, you'll find a list of the categories. To view the posts, just click on the category name. You can also access all of the blog posts chronologically by clicking on the monthly archive links.
Welcome home!
Hi Kitty,
On another blog, I came across this ezine, flashquake, a poetry and short-fiction publication. I didn't linger on the site, just long enough to see that it is soliciting contributions from people affected by Hurricane Katrina. I thought you might be interested. Here's the URL: http://www.flashquake.org/

aren't blogs a wonderful thing
perhaps they help us to put things into perspective...order
perhaps in our crazy little worlds there is disarray...here...we can be neatly contained? lol

Ottmar Liebert is one of my favorite musicians (flamenco guitarist.) He's going to be giving a concert in Seattle next month, and that's not too far away from where I am now.
