why do you think you MUST give up washer/dryer?
i thought deeply about the first part of your post...where you [we] are defined by the place where we live, who we associate with - i must seriously look at this: thank you

:) :) :)

As I'm looking for a place to live, having my own washer/dryer in my living quarters seems to be the "gatekeeper" for me. No coin-operated laundry shared with other tenants, and no going down the street to the public laundromat. Been there, done that, thank you very much. I'll know that I'm truly at home when I can walk into my laundry room at 2 AM and do a load of clothes, and not have to get dressed to do so. :)
